Breadalbane Memories
Updated: Aug 6
With just over 3 months to go until the historic 20th Breadalbane event, BB News has been asking players from the field to share their favourite memories or moments from over the years.
First up was Baz Ramsay. Debuting at Slaley Hall in 2008, Baz's appearance in La Cala will be his 13th Breadalbane event and the 2023 Taymouth Captain has won the Clique for the high handicappers three times in 2013, 2014 and 2023. Here are Baz's memories from over the years:
Next up was Anton Mowatt. Anton was parachuted in to the 10th Breadalbane in Tenerife as a last minute replacement and has been a regular ever since; appearing 8 times. Anton took home the unwanted Green Jacket in 2017 but has since won The Clique on two occasions in 2020 and 2021. Here is his favourite memory from the Breadalbane over the years:
Next, we heard from two-time champion, Adam Duncan. Adam made his debut in Benidorm at BB11 and has been an ever-present since. Alongside winning the Quaich twice, Adam captained Kenmore to their Rider Cup win at Heron's Reach in 2023 and was a major part of Kenmore holding the cup for the first three Rider Cup events. Here is Adam's memory from his time on the Breadalbane weekend:
The next memory came from Founding Foreskin, Craig 'Edgy' Roberts. Edge will be competing in his 16th Breadalbane at La Cala; having famously never taken home the Quaich. However, he did Captain the Taymouth side to their first Rider Cup win at Belton Woods in 2025 and will be hoping to be part of the side that keeps a hold of it this year. Here are some of Edge's memories from over the years:
This time, it is the turn of another two-time Breadalbane Champion, John Bruce. Brucey will be teeing it up in his 14th event in Spain, having debuted at Oulton Hall in 2011. He also captained Kenmore to victory in the first ever Rider Cup at Wokefield in 2022. Here is Brucey's favourite memory from over the years:
More memories will be shared over the coming week in the build up to the biggest Breadalbane yet!
