Handicaps Finalised for Breadalbane XX

On the evening of Tuesday 4th August, a Foreskins Committee meeting took place to determine the handicaps of all 24 players in the field for the historic 20th Breadalbane. As always, those with official handicaps are exempt from conversation; leaving those without a handicap to be reviewed based on previous performance, perceived ability compared to others and whether or not they are liked by the committee.

Despite calls for every player in the field to secure an official handicap via their country's handicap system, there are still 9 players without one. For those this applies to, the starting point is their handicap from last year (or most recent appearance). As has now been the case for the last few years, any deductions for previous wins only apply to the Breadalbane and do not carry into the Rider Cup, therefore all players have their full handicap for the team event across the weekend.

One new rule was voted in during the meeting. For anyone attaining an official handicap going forward, the maximum handicap index will now be set at 32.0 rather than traditional ceiling of 28.0. For example, if someone submitted cards and received a handicap of 37.5, they would be allowed a 32.0 index for Breadalbane competition.

Anyone who's handicap has been adjusted at the committee meeting will see the change listed under 'The Foreskin's Cut' column, where a negative value is actually a handicap increase.
