ALEX KEIR

Hailing from Ayrshire, Alex was a last minute replacement at BB17 in Blackpool. Having taken up golf only a few years ago, his steady improvement has seen his handicap come down significantly.

Not short of confidence, Alex stormed into the overnight lead in his debut appearance before stumbling slightly on the Sunday to finish in 3rd overall. That may have had something to do with the Saturday night court session, or it could have been the lack of mince and tatties that was on offer in the hotel; being central to Alex's main diet.

Lifting the Quaich at Forest Pines in just his 2nd appearance, Alex has also proved to be a handy addition to the Taymouth squad and has a solid record. 7 points from a possible 9 is not to be sniffed at but a first defeat at the hands of Adam Duncan and Miles Shaw will have dented the confidence.

Alex was in the anchor match against James Cornelius at Belton Woods and managed to hold off a fightback from the Kenmore man to win 2&1, helping Taymouth lift the trophy. With his form patchy this season, can he make the necessary swing tweaks to perform at La Cala?
