Baz made a welcome return to Breadalbane action at Wokefield in 2022, ending a 7 year absence. The Primary School Head Teacher put in a good performance over the weekend, breaking into the top group for the final round on Sunday.

As part of Taymouth, his Rider Cup performance was one the better ones in the team; taking 2 points from a possible 3 across the weekend. That led to Baz being given the captaincy for Taymouth in Blackpool, a role he thrived in but ultimately came up short as his team lost by a single point.

2024 was something of a disaster for Baz. Having played more golf than ever before, he began the tournament as a favourite and ended it near the bottom and without a point for Taymouth. To add insult to injury, The Rider Cup came down to his game on the Sunday and his defeat by Jason Kerr handed Kenmore the trophy.

Being one of Taymouth's major mouthpieces, 2025 was a momentous moment for Baz as he helped his side take home The Rider Cup for the first time, managing a fourball win over nemisis Adam Duncan along the way. Having now got an official handicap, will he be able to find some form at La Cala to help his side and threaten the leaders for the Quaich?
