JOHN MCLUCKIE

Joining at Murrayshall in 2020, big John got off to a strong start in his Breadalbane career with 2 third place finishes. Having been in contention at Cardrona, John's tee shot on the 17th let him down and he has never been as close since. 

The 2007 Braes high school head boy and straight A student will be hoping to use his intellect to think his way around the challenging La Cala track and add his name to the illustrious list of Breadalbane winners. 

It is in the revamped team event where John has exceled, however. He was one of Taymouth's few bright sparks in the first ever Rider Cup, securing all 3 points on offer across the weekend and was again a vital part of their improved showing in 2023. Named as Taymouth Captain for 2024 at Forest Pines, his team looked set for victory before Sunday collapse allowed Kenmore to retain the trophy.

That all changed in 2025 as John scored 2 points from 3 on the way to Taymouth's first win, including an impressive 8&7 singles win over Jason Kerr on the Sunday. If Taymouth are to retain the trophy, they will need McLuckie on form at La Cala.
