STEVEN ROBERTS

Handicap: 8.6

Heron's Reach marked 12 years since he last lifted the Quaich and very much like his old man, questions were hovering as to whether he still had the temperament of a Champion golfer. This combined with several handicap cuts had also done him no favours, as his allowable margin of error was ever narrowing.

However, In fairness to Steven (known to the Foreskins as Junior), he became the first-ever 3 time winner of the Breadalbane in 2023 with an impressive victory in Blackpool. That, added to the fact he has more top four finishes than anybody in Breadalbane history, make for an impressive pedigree.

All that was missing was an elusive Rider Cup win, having Captained the losing Taymouth side in 2022 and being part of the teams to narrowly miss out on winning in 2023 and 2024.

That all changed at Belton Woods in 2025 as Steven helped the Taymouth side to their first ever Rider Cup win and remained unbeaten across the weekend, staging a singles fightback against Steven Rodgers on the Sunday to secure a vital half point.
