JAMES CORNELIUS

Looking through Corny's roll of honour, you may be surprised to hear that he has had only one finish in the top four at Breadalbane, coming when he won the Quaich at Wychwood Park. Furthermore, for a man who takes a prize home almost every year the top accolade has escaped his grasp for over fifteen years now.

No one can question the Founding Foreskin’s commitment to the cause having now made the most appearances in Breadalbane history. Still, the lack of any meaningful challenge recently shows his biggest issue….He is f**king woeful at golf.

In fairness, his nearest the pin record is exemplary. Eight confirmed nearest the pins from eighteen attempts can be nothing but applauded. Nevertheless, can he turn this par 3 specialty into proudly displaying the Quaich for a second time on the Cornelius mantelpiece? Probably not.

A last placed finish at Belton Woods in 2025 secured the big man his first ever Green Jacket; something he will be eager not to repeat any time soon. If he can finally shake off the injury woes of the last few years, then a return to form shouldn't be ruled out.
