In Memory Of

ALEXANDER ORR SMITH SNR

The Breadalbane weekend is in memory of one man: Alex Smith Snr. Alex was one of the Founding Foreskins of the event and indeed took the first ever title in 2007 in a playoff against Eddie Roberts.
Sadly, Alex would not defend his title as he passed away before the next event. His son Alex Smith Jnr was present at the 2008 Breadalbane, where the coveted prize was named the Alexander Smith Memorial Quaich. Not many of the current squad had the privilege of meeting Alex Senior, but every year all competitors take a moment to reflect on the original winner and raise a glass in his honour.
